To develop a biblically healthy body of believers who function by the “FIRST” essentials of the church in Acts 2:42-47. In order to fulfill our purpose, we are committed to these five functions.
EVANGELISM - “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us, we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” - 2 Corinthians 5: 20.
We’re not saved from our sin and separation from God for our own benefit. God desires that every person hears the Good News of Jesus Christ and responds by giving their lives to Him. When we share the good news, everyone is changed.
DISCIPLESHIP - "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
Discipleship is not an option for the believer. Every Christian needs to grow in his and/or her understanding of and obedience to God (Ephesians 4: 11-16). Discipleship is a process that begins after conversion and continues throughout a believer’s life.
FELLOWSHIP - "A new commandment I give to you: Love one another. As I loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” John 13:34-35 NIV.
Christians share a common belief in Christ and a unity of purpose that is rooted in God’s love for us and our love for Him and one another. God intends for His people to join with other believers and to share their common life in Christ.
MINISTRY - “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith” – Galatians 6:10.
Ministry is the discovery and use of spiritual gifts and abilities to meet the needs of others in Jesus’ name. Through the Holy Spirit, God gives Christians spiritual gifts and empowers them to use those gifts in His service.
WORSHIP - “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” -1 Corinthians 10:31
All Great Commission work grows out of love and devotion-worship- to God. Without the honoring of Christ through a genuine understanding of who He is and what He has done for us, we labor in our own power. Worship can be both an event and a lifestyle.
